Pink
Floyd's album Atom Heart Mother was released in the UK on this day in
1970. It was their first number one album, despite the cover which had
just the simple, but very striking, picture of a black and white cow, on
it. The record company weren't impressed by the cover at the time, but
it has become one of the band's iconic images. Featuring extensive
collaboration with Ron Geesin, it showed the band moving in a new
direction with their music.
